Involving you

Amber Trust has an Involvement strategy and everyone is introduced to a range of involvement activities, via our Involvement & Participation Worker.

Empowerment and choice are core values of involvement and we value the individual experience of the person using the service.  These principles underpin our work and our aims to support people to achieve independence and integration in their community.

Ways that we involve the people we support:

  • Regular Forums are held where people are able to be involved in the business of the organisation; reviewing policies and procedures and contributing to the Business Plan.
  • Recruitment and selection of new staff; being on the interview panel.
  • Training and Development; learning opportunities and joint training with the people we support and staff.
  • Regular informal involvement activities; coffee afternoons, art events.
  • Production of a monthly newsletter which the people we support can help by contributing to the content, and editing and distributing the newsletter.
  • Projects for Health and Wellbeing.
  • We also hold events to celebrate success.

Through involvement of the people we support the organisation can:

  • Offer services which are able to respond to the needs and wishes of the people using our services.
  • Offer a better quality of service.
  • Check that the service is fulfilling its needs and is relevant and effective
